Do your host fixes to avoid virus nasties

Postby blythburgh » Fri Jan 23, 2009 5:28 am

There are a lot of nasty viruses going around at the moment.

I was scared of the machine so always put off doing the hosts fixes Ron, the WM of the excellent Tesas Tea Mails (go Google for it and join, you won't be sorry) tells us to do.

Well, I got a bad hit despite everything and my clever husband had to reformat the hard disc. Before I do any PTP links I will be updating my hosts files.

This is Ron's latest post but apparently this is for Windows XP so Vista might be different.

I use FireFox for my browser and have various addons they have including NoScript which is terrific as far as keeping lot of junk out. You only allow what you want to load.
